Vacancy – Medical Administrator

37 hours per week (Monday – Friday)


We are looking for an experienced, motivated administrator to join our busy and friendly team.


The ideal candidate will be confident with technology, have first class IT skills and broad administration experience. It isn’t essential to have worked in healthcare; however this experience would be advantageous.


The role will include medical secretarial duties as well as general administration. High levels of accuracy and attention to detail are essential as is the need for strict confidentiality and high levels of integrity.


You absolutely must be a people person and able to communicate effectively with staff and patients. We are looking for a team player, who is flexible in working to the needs of the business by prioritising workload and using initiative.

Langport is a beautiful place with a good old fashioned community feel. There are some wonderful lunchtime walks along the river and through the town. Staff often go for walks (or runs) together at lunchtime across the Somerset levels.


Langport Surgery is a large, stable and happy team of 53 people. There are 5 GP Partners who have worked together for the last 10 years, an associate GP and we have an experienced salaried GP joining us in September. We have Nurse Practitioners and an ECP working alongside the GPs as well as a highly skilled Nursing and HCA team plus Dispensary, Reception and Admin teams.


We embrace technology: E-Consult, text messaging platforms and we encourage patients to use Patient Online Access. We work with other local practices and are an active part of CLICK Primary Care Network with access to shared services such as visiting ECPs and a Pharmacist.
